Times says lower poverty is a bad thing
The Times today has an article claiming that 4.7 million more people are paying tax than under the last Tory administration. What seems odd to me is that the Times seems to believe that this is a bad thing. In order not to pay tax (legally) you need to earn under around £80 a week. In other words, the only people not paying tax are those who are very poor. Surely economic growth that has lifted 4.7 million people out of extreme poverty is a good thing?
