The murderers of Charlene Ellis and Letisha Shakespeare have been convicted, partly on anonymous evidence given by a witness who placed some of the men at the scene. Neither the accused nor their barristers knew the identity of this man. Why can similar measures not be used to convict those accused of unspecified terrorist offences?
