Tories stand on racist platform

Michael Howard's Tory party will make limits on asylum seekers and immigrants central to their campaign for the next election. Never mind that immigration is already subject to work permits. Never mind that the numbers and asylum seekers and illegal immigrants have been exagerated out of all proportion. Never mind that large chunks of our economy relies on exploiting illegal immigrants - yet those who profit from these invisible workers are never castigated by politicians and the media.

The current "debate" is little more than right-wing newspapers selling copies by making their readers feel good about their inherent racism. Politicians should be fighting against these vile lies and half-truths, not pandering to such xenophobic bigotry.
